Mission:  The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional charter and the Fundamental Charter of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people preven, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Programs/Services Provided:

The American Red Cross and its local affiliates help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Programs are designed to provide emergency service and financial assistance to members of the Armed Forces and their families; volunteer blood drive services; disaster services; and health and safety education programs.

 

How United Way Funds are used:  United Way funds comprise over 30% of the Red Cross' budget, allowing Red Cross to respond to victims of home fires and natural disasters. Additionally, funds allow community outreach programs and teaching people to save lives every day.

Provide food, clothing, and shelter to victims of disaster.

Preparedness:

Provide education in CPR, hand washing, First Aid, Water Safety, HIV/AIDS, and preparedness in order to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
