How United Way Funds are used:  United Way funding provides prompt, necessary health care to the families in our communities.

Programs/Services Provided:

Special Children's Fund networks with many agencies to assure that families receive the necessary health care for their children when finances are a barrier. Special Children's Fund strives to decrease financial stress and promote health care in families with children ages newborn to 18.

Provides assistance with medical care-related expenses of a child, that would otherwise delay the health care that the child needs.  Much of what Special Children's Fund provides are gas and travel vouchers to help families reach appointments in Omaha, Denver and other cities throughout the United States. Children ages newborn to 18, who are living in Adams, Nuckolls, Clay and Webster counties, or who are seeking medical care in those counties are eligible. Referrals must come from a health care provider, teacher or social service employee.
