21st Anniversary of the Annual National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
May 11th, 2013
IT'S TIME TO SPRING INTO ACTION AND HELP FIGHT HUNGER!
Last year over 70 million pounds of food was collected, feeding an estimated 30 million people. Having collected more than a billion pounds of food since its inception in 1993, this effort is reportedly the nation's largest single-day food drive.
The need for food donations is great! Currently 50 million Americans - 1 in 6 - are unsure where their next meal is coming from and nearly 3 million seniors over the age of 65 are dealing with hunger as well.
Taking part in the food drive is easy!! Your letter carrier will pick up your donations when they deliver your mail on May 11th. All you have to do is leave non-perishable food items at your mailbox and the letter carriers will do the rest!
LET'S JOIN IN THE FIGHT! YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
